The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra places great importance in the cultural education and refinement of musical taste of the youth. Լaunched in 2018, the orchestra’s DasA educational program (Das is the Armenian word for lesson and "A" stands for the “LA” note - the beginning of the musical alphabet to which all musical instruments are tuned in the orchestra) strives to incite curiosity, understanding and liking for classical music among high school students. DasA encourages the youth to befriend high quality musical art and shares profound knowledge about classical music.
The program comprises open lessons and extra-curricular meetings with high school students, where they can explore classical music, its history and global cultural impact. The orchestra musicians also give some introduction of specific classical music works included in the concerts that follow these open lessons. This enriching experience turns out to be a revelation for many students who are having their first ever attendance to a classical music concert in the framework of the DasA project. In the course of 4 years, the DasA lessons were delivered to over 28000 students of 65 high schools, resulting in recurring future attendance by 70% of the target group students to the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra’s concerts.
The DasA mobile application is also available for our young users to gain knowledge about classical composers and their works, as well as to complete quizzes, watch performances or book concert tickets online
